SUMMERTIME Meet n Greet!

Postby Dan » Tue Jul 13, 2010 3:37 pm

As summer is the season when most films are generally made, maybe its about time we organised a meet n greet and screening celebration before the film festival begins?

So let us know if you've got a short film your dying to screen and we will try to accommodate!
Just reply to this thread, send an email to dan@egomotion.net. We can then decide on a location for you guys to hand in your dvds and get things moving.

A nice informal meeting and discussion amongst fellow filmmakers is just the ticket to get that film project you have on the back burner moving again.

If anyone has any suggestions that would make the night a success then feel free to contribute your ideas!

Sounds brilliant! Top idea old boy. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Have you received many films for this yet, Dan? Any idea of a date?

not one solid film!

I think fiona said it would be okay to screen her winning film" flicking channels"
I have a short I might have ready,

but alas, looks like no-one cares anymore, :pity:

all be it, i have only mentioned it here on a thread, haven't mail shot it or pushed it out there, im sure we will easily be able to put together a nice 2 hour programme without much hassle.

We could mention it on filmmakersnetwork too - I'm sure some of the heads on there would send some films. I may have one myself to show too

What about Facebook? Surely it shouldn't be that hard to put together a two hour programme. Bound to be loads of people around dying to get a short screened. If we could get the Crane Lane too that would be great. They got a HD projector.

Cool - send them on. I'll pm you my address. We have several films so far, and are thinking along the lines of getting together an hour or so of films, then afterwards some drinks and chat and general merriment!

Okay - so here's the plan -

AUGUST 24th (Tuesday) at 8pm in THE ROUNDY

All are welcome. It'll be free! We have some great locally made short films to show - 6 so far, and counting. Come along and meet fellow filmmakers, actors, directors, writers, DOP's and film enthusiasts!

Anyone interested in sending in a film PM me here, or mail me at:

Thanks to everyone who sent on films. We won't be able to show all the films we received on the night, however we are planning to run another night in the near future so we will get around to showing them all
See you Tuesday.

That was a really brilliant crowd! Thanks to everyone who called in last night to watch seven great films from local filmmakers. If you have any feedback on the night please post here. We'll run another meet and greet in the next couple of months, so if you have any short films you'd like to show, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Damn! Sorry I missed it lads. Didn't hear a thing about it!

I have subscribed to the pages but don't always get the updates. Keeps happening that I get a notification email out of the blue and when I log on I've missed a few things.

With Facebook, Twitter and RSS feeds I don't get a chance to log on here as often as I need to. Don't know how I missed the facebook thing though?

Hopefully catch you all soon.

Eoin.
